Our first port of call after closing the gallery at the start of winter is Byron Bay, Australia. Our kids have settled here in this rather delightful location which is often described as a larger version of Golden Bay. We love the cafes, farmer's market, cycle trails and most of all the coastline. Peter has painted 'Towards the Lighthouse' from Tallow Beach, one of our favourite beach walks 5 minutes from Byron Bay. We enjoy this pristine, uncrowded beach that goes on for miles, and the headland walks of Broken Head on the southern end of the beach. The beach ends at an impressive lighthouse which marks the most eastern point of Australia.
